Week of May 2, 2016

Dear Parents,

Our plans for the week are as follows:

MATH:   In math this week, we will continue working with division and multiplication by drawing pictures to understand the concept.  We will also complete daily problem solving.  The math test will be on Friday.

READING/LANGUAGE ARTS:   High Frequency words are:  yesterday, know, food, order, and second. The high frequency words test and the dictation sentences test will be on Thursday again this week.  The Target Reading test will be on Friday.  The final book project was supposed to be due on May 5th.  However, the deadline has been extended until May 12.  Therefore, students will be required to turn in the book project any time between now and May 12, which is the final day they will be accepted.  The project may be in any form that we have done this year:  book in a bag, poster, diorama, fact cards, or a written report.  If you have any questions, please call, email, or sent a note.

As you probably already know, I am no longer assigning homework.  We will still have our weekly tests until the end of next week.  After that, we will be reviewing skills from the year, but no more tests will be given.  Grades usually go down when tests are given in the last few weeks of school, so I try not to give any tests during that time.

Have a great week!

Karen Pinkston
